Carl Trout DDS
Dr. Carl Trout grew up in western Nebraska and graduated with a BS degree from the University of Wyoming. He attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry and graduated with High Distinction in 2007. While awaiting his wife, Kia, to complete medical school and an internal medicine and pediatrics residency, Dr. Trout practiced general dentistry for four years prior to pursuing specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Nebraska in Omaha.
Dr. Trout received numerous awards and scholarships during his training experiences and was Chief Resident in his pediatric dental residency. He has been involved in many leadership organizational innovations within the residency program, as well as participating in many public health projects to increase access to care in Nebraska. His enthusiasm for working with kids and pediatric dentistry is a great addition to our practice and to the dental community.
Dr. Trout is married to Kia, and enjoys skiing, hiking, running, hunting, fishing, golf, and reading in his spare time.
Brent L. Holman, DDS, MSD
Dr. Brent Holman grew up in Halstead, Kansas.....the son of a dentist. He completed his pre-dental training at the University of Kansas and received his DDS degree from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry. After a year of general dentistry practice, he attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas where he received his 2-year specialty training as a pediatric dentist. Dr. Holman earned his Board-certification from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 1987.
Dr. Holman was a founding Board member and president of the Red River Valley Dental Access Project (www.rrdentalaccess.com) that was initiated in 1998 and still serves on the Board. Dr. Holman received the American Dental Association Access Recognition Award and the Bud Tarrson Access to Care Award from the American Dental Association Foundation in 2004. He was the first State Coordinator for the Donated Dental Services Program and is currently State Coordinator for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry/ Head Start Dental Home Initiative. Dr. Holman is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He was President of the North Dakota Dental Association in 2003-2004 and served on it's Board of Trustees for 6 years. Dr Holman was a leader in the organization of the Spirit Lake Pediatric Dental Day held in Ft Totten, ND on September 30, 2011, that provided restorative dental care to 232 children of the Spirit Lake Reservation. He was honored for that effort by receiving the Star Collaboration Award from the Dakota Medical Foundation.
Dr. Holman is married and has two sons. His hobbies include donating time to causes that improve access to dental care, travel, and following his beloved Kansas Jayhawks!
